The four judges who are featured in a criminal case started over passive corruption and influence peddling were classed as suspects, IPN reports.
The Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office said that during the searches carried out at the offices, homes and in the cars of the four judges two days ago, there were seized objects relevant to the investigation.
Prosecutors are to take decisions as to the necessity of asking for preventive measures to be applied against the four.
The Superior Council of Magistracy accepted acting prosecutor general Ion Munteanu’s requests to allow investigating, arresting and searching four judges of the Chisinau Court and the Chisinau Appeals Court. Two of the judges were detained the day the searches were conducted.
